Dear Members,

I have been part of the ICAI Abu Dhabi Chapter’s Committees for last 9 years. After conclusion of 32nd Annual General Meeting and election of the new managing committee, I was bestowed the responsibility to lead this wonderful institution. It is indeed a great honour for me to be elected as the 14th Chairman of the ICAI Abu Dhabi Chapter. I would like to thank all the Members of the Chapter particularly Past Chairmen and fellow committee members for the support and guidance extended over the years and I am sure your support and motivation will continue in the future.

Our Chapter has grown from humble beginnings in 1984 to around 700 members in 2016. ICAI has made giant strides in professional excellence in all these years as it has transformed into the second largest accounting body in the world with over 250,000 members and around a million students.

In line with ICAI’s vision of becoming the World’s leading accounting body, regulator and developer of trusted and independent professionals with world class competencies in accounting, assurance, taxation, finance and business advisory services, the Chapters core objectives include:

  • Serving as a medium for facilitating the sharing of the vast professional knowledge and expertise among the members and CA Students;
  • Added exposure of our members in the community, providing continual professional education;
  • Facilitating employment opportunities;
  • Reinforcing the ICAI brand;
  • Harnessing technology to deliver better services to our members;
  • Organizing programs as a part of the ICAI social responsibility initiative.

In line with the objectives of the Chapter, the current Managing Committee is planning the following activities during the year:

  • On an average one PDC event every month;
  • One event exclusively for the lady members;
  • One Student Seminar;
  • CPT coaching classes for students perusing CPT Examinations
  • Two social event whereby members and their family members get an opportunity to meet and net-work;
  • In addition to above, the Chapter will host its 29th Annual International Seminar, Gala Dinner and Musical event during November 2017.

I request all the members to provide full support to make these events a grand success. I request all the members to suggest names of speakers and sponsors and also encourage ICAI members, who have not yet became member of the Chapter, to become member of the Chapter.

I believe that we have a very capable and talented team at the Committee and through their contribution and support, I hope that we keep the flag of ICAI Abu Dhabi Chapter flying high and keep up with the good work done by our past chairmen and their teams over the years.

I look forward to working with all of you during this year.

With best regards
