Dear Fellow Members,
It gives me great pleasure in connecting with you through the newsletter. The initiative to start the newsletter and to connect with you was in our mind for very long but due to resource constraints we were not able to give it a shape. We would like to thank all the contributors to spare time from their busy schedule to provide articles and messages. Also I would like to personally thank CA Ajay Singhvi and CA Swati Gupta for their initiative and hard work to publish this newsletter.
This year I am very fortunate to have a very supportive and active committee. The team is working enthusiastically to give best possible benefits to you all. In spite of their busy schedules in their own jobs during these difficult market conditions, they are proactively working to bring new services for the members and also provide good experiences during those events.
One such area of benefit for members where we are actively involved is the equivalency of Chartered Accountant course with UAE qualification. We have worked very closely with ICAI and the different authorities to get the equivalency.
There has been a steady rise in the number of events conducted by the Chapter both technical and social. It is our endeavor to bring in the best speakers on varied topics of interest. With this aim in mind events were conducted on topics like Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Cryptocurrencies, VAT, Union Budget of India, IFRS etc. IFRS batch was started on 20th September 2019 and there was a great response from members. The seats were filled in just 3 days of announcing the course. We also plan to conduct workshops on upcoming issues like digitalization of accounting and finance functions, Forensic Audit, Information Systems Audit etc. we would like the members to attend the events in large numbers and update their knowledge on the varied topics discussed at these seminars. Also it is a nice opportunity to network with fellow professionals which can be very helpful.
Along with technical events, the Chapter also conducted events for the families and friends of the members. In this respect members and their families were taken to Desert Camp. Also two trips were arranged for Russia where 95 people including Chapter members and their families joined. The Chapter celebrated Onam with great enthusiasm and it was very well covered on many different TV and radio channels. Similarly we will be celebrating Navratri and Diwali in October and Christmas in December. The Chapter also entered into agreements with NMC and UAE Exchange to provide best services to members. We are continuously looking to provide more services for our members.
Annual Seminar dates have been announced. This year the event will be held on 7th and 8th November. The venue is Fairmont, Bab Al Bahar. We are in the process of finalising the speakers and artist. Soon a detailed circular will be sent to you all in this respect. We would also like to take this opportunity to request our members to provide us with names of good speakers for the annual event.
We would also like to request members to provide articles for the brochure. There is a special prize for the best article which will be chosen by a committee.
Events of this nature are not possible without generous support from sponsors. You all must be knowing many companies personally. A small help in getting us connected with those probable companies who can and are willing to sponsor will be a great help to the Chapter.
Again thank you very much for all your support in taking the Chapter to greater heights.
